An honest notch or so less (slightly high) then the previous wide open turbine flows with overflow levels diminished. The salmon are running in New York State - EnviroPolitics Water temps have flirted with 40F but should slide back with the forecasted colder weather ahead. I have been fishing my clients from 50-150 ft. There is plenty of water cover to hide fish or to encourage any late migrations of browns or early migrations of steelhead. That may be a result of the good flows bringing in those steelhead. Pier head foot soldiers may want to at least occasionally do an about face from lakeside casting at times to check the scene in the channel. Not bad drifting conditions, esp in the smaller waterways. We are catching fish in 50-110 water in front of the major rivers and off 9-mile point. Lower Niagara River action picked up a tick or two this week for bass and walleye according to Lisa Drabczyk with Creek Road Bait and Tackle in Lewiston. The lower flows will concentrate the available fish in a few good lies or gravel spots. Upstream action so far mainly for a few fish at the dam. Same for estuary slow water areas on the smaller tribs where guys have had on and off action. Water temps have flirted with 40 F but should slide back with the forecasted colder weather ahead. Colder temps could bring back some icing conditions esp in the smaller waterways if lower flows prevail. In the Oak, flows are moderate and mostly clear and likewise may hold onto those fair moderate flows instead of dropping back to real low. On the dates not included above anglers can still fish any of the water adjacent to the Archers Club but access will have to be by walking and wading from downstream at the Park Ave Ext Fishing Trail or from upstream at the Waterport dam and anglers cannot be on the Archers Club grounds only in the immediate bankside water. A dropping and clearing water scenario is a contrast for what youd rather see as rising or high flows for best chances at fresh fish migrations.
